Is Alex Anthopolous the Best GM in Baseball?

If I could choose any GM in the league to bring success back to the Jays organization, I would easily choose AA(Alex Anthopolous). Simply moving a contract as horrendous as Vernon Wells has definitely put AA in the upper echelon of General Managers.

.

Players brought in:

Colby Rasmus
Yunel Escobar
Kyle Drabek
Travis D'arnaud
Anthony Gose
Brandon Morrow
Brett Lawrie
Sergei Santos
Kelly Johnson

Players sent out:

Roy Halladay
Shaun Marcum
Jason Frasor( brought back)
Vernon Wells
Brandon League
Nestor Molina
Aaron Hill

All the players brought in by the Jays are young and have great potential. We all know how handcuffed AA was with Doc Halladay but the return he still garnished was great and all the players he received back have potential to be great in the majors (D'arnaud, Gose and Drabek). The Lawrie/Marcum trade seems even so far but who knows how good Lawrie can turn out after raking in his rookie year. Plenty of talented prospects are in the system, I believe the jays have the deepest system in the game. The young arms coming up is mouth watering and its great to see how much value AA puts into producing his own talents.

It may not be this year that the Jays contend but this young core has the potential to have sustained success for many years to come. A continuous cycle of talent flowing through Toronto is on the horizon and many are touting the Jays lead by Anthopolous as an up and coming team.

A prime example right now of sustaining success is having D'arnaud in the system and Arencibia at the major league level. Soon enough D'arnaud will be ready to go behind the dish in the majors and Arencibia or D'arnaud will become available to upgrade a weaker position on the team (Starting Pitching).

Maybe the most underrated move was to bring in John Farrel who seems to have the team believing in him, his first year as Jays manager was a success. Let's see if he and the team can continue to build on last year.

Now who can't wait for some Bautista bombs?? I found this video an you gotta love the constant sound of the ball being hammered to left field.
